GARLIC RASAM


 INGREDIENTS


TOMATOES- 2 NOS MEDIUM SIZED

TAMARIND- GOOSEBERRY SIZED

GRIND TO PASTE

GARLIC- 4 CLOVES

CUMIN SEEDS- 1 TSP

PEPPER CORNS-3/4 TSP

OTHER INGREDIENTS

TURMERIC POWDER- 1/2 TSP

SALT ACCORDING TO TASTE

SEASONING

GHEE- 1 TSP

MUSTARD SEEDS- 1 TSP




ASAFOETIDA(optional)- 1/2 TSP

CURRY LEAVES

CILANTRO FOR GARNISHING

PREPARATION

Soak tamarind in warm water and extract syrup.Cut tomatoes and add to the tamarind syrup and mash tomatoes well till it blends well with the tamarind syrup. To this syrup add salt,turmeric powder, paste of cumin,pepper and garlic and heat the syrup till it boils well , and raw smell of the tamarind goes off add curry leaves,while the rasam is boiling and switch off.Add the seasoning  and garnish with cilantro.It will serve 5 people.
