INGREDIENTS

RICE RAWA- 2 CUPS

WATER- 4 CUPS









SEASONING

SESAME OIL- 1 1/2 TBSP

MUSTARD- 1 TSP

URAD DHAL- 1 TSP

GRAM DHAL- 1 TSP

RED CHILIES-4 NOS

ASAFOETIDA- 1 TSP

CURRY LEVES- 1 SPRIG

SALT ACCORDING TO TASTE

SUGAR- 1/2 TSP

COCONUT GRATED- 1 TBSP 



PREPARATION

In a vessel heat water along with salt and keep it aside.In another pan heat sesame oil add mustard, urad dhal,gram dhal till the dhal turn golden brown then add the broken red chilies,curry leaves,asafoetida,sugar over this add the rice rawa and saute for a minute.Now take the boiling water and pour it over the rice rawa.Keep stirring to avoid lumps.Now the rice rawa will get cooked and reach upma consistency.Switch oof the stove and allow it to cool.Then gently roll the upma to cylindrical shape and place it in a idli steamer and steam for 5 minutes. Since the rice rawa is already cooked no need to steam cook for longer time.
