OIL- 3 TSP
CORIANDER SEEDS- 1 TBSP
RED CHILIES- 7 NOS
GRAM DHAL- 5 TSP
FENUGREEK SEEDS- 1/2 TSP
CUMIN SEEDS- 3/4 TSP
COCONUT GRATED- 1 TBSP
CURRY LEAVES- 1 SPRIG
CINNAMON STICK- 1/2 INCH 1 NO
OTHER INGREDIENTS
TAMARIND- GOOSEBERRY SIZED
TURMERIC POWDER- 1/2 TSP
OIL- 5 TSP
SALT ACCORDIND TO TASTE
TOOR DHAL- 1 CUP
ANY VEGGIE CAN BE USED
SEASONING
OIL
MUSTARD-1 TSP
CUMIN SEEDS- 1 TSP
ASAFOETIDA- 1/2 TSP
PREPARATION
Extract tamarind syrup and keep it aside.Steam cook toor dhal and keep it aside. In a pan heat 3 tsp oil and roast all the ingredients till the lentils and other ingredients turn golden brown in color allow it to cool and powder in a mixer.In the same pan add 5 tsp oil and add any veggie till veggie turns soft add tamarind syrup over this add salt,turmeric powder,heat till the raw smell of the tamarind syrup goes off.Now add the steamed toor dhal at last add the sambar pwder and keep stirring to avoid lumps and switch off .At last add the seasoning.
