INGREDIENTS TO ROAST AND GRIND

TOOR DHAI- 4 TSP
URAD DHAL- 4 TSP
PEPPER- 2 TSP
ASAFOETDA- 1 TSP
RED CHILIES- 7 NOS
DRY GINGER POWDERED- 1 TSP
CURRY LEAVES- 1 SPRIG
OIL FOR ROASTING - 2 TSP
OTHER INGREDIENTS
TAMARIND- LEMON SIZED
ONION- 2 NOS
GARLIC CLOVES- 6 NOS
TURMERIC POWDER- 1/2 TSP
SALT ACCORDING TO TASTE
SEASONING
SESAME OIL-2 TSP
MUSTARD- 1 TSP
PREPARATION
Extract tamarind syrup by soaking tamarind in warm water.Roast all the ingredients and grind to powder and keep it aside.In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil and saute chopped onion,minced garlic, add salt over this add the tamarind syrup and allow it to boil then add turmeric powder .Heat till the raw smell of the tamarind syrup goes off at last add the ground powder add water and keep stiring to avoid lumps at last add the seasoning to the kozhambu.It will serve 5 to 6 people.
